Currently Wildstar Press only publishes on its website. We hope in six months to have an electronic newsletter,in two years to be publishing the volumes in print , one to four years start with e-books, five years to be publishing books of poetry, and in seven to expand to other types of publishing. When you submit you must specify which form of publishing you give permission to be published in. We prefer to have permission to publish on the website, in a newsletter version of the volume, and in a print version of the online volume. You may give us permission for any combination of media or all forms of media. Please check compensation guidelines for information on compensation.

This is optional if you send a working e-mail address. Please see Privacy Policy. You must include in the paragraph before your work(s) 1)verification of copyright (ie copyright 2000 Mary Jane Doe, I verify I have the right to submit this poem or permission from the author that does have rights over this work) 2)permission to use your work on the Poetry Pages website without compensation 3)which media you give permission for (ie website, print, newletter, e-books, or all) 4) a title (this can be Untitled) 5)Your name or pen name as you would like it to appear. Be sure to check your work(s) for typos and spelling mistakes before you submit. It may cause delay of acceptance and publishing because of our publishing process. If there is a very questionable error you will be contacted by e-mail.

Multiple submissions are when an author submits a piece to more than one place for publication. Wildstar Press will consider works that are multiple submissions. It will also publish works that are being or have been published somewhere else (reprints). If the work you have submitted is a multiple submission please let us know. Also if your work is accepted elsewhere, please let us know. It can still be considered for publication here. Finally, if you wish not to have your piece published because it has been accepted elsewhere or for any other reason you MUST inform us in writing (conventional mail or e-mail). Please see Notification of Acceptance for guidelines on removing you work from consideration for publishing.

The author of the items(s) submitted will retain all copyrights. By submitting, the author gives permission for Wildstar Press to post their submitted work(s), if accepted, on the website. Copyright notice will be at the bottom of each work. Wildstar Press accepts in good faith that the author of the poem is indeed the author. Stealing another author's work is against the law and unacceptable. Works submitted intentionally giving credit to one who is not the author will be removed from the website. Wildstar Press will not accept further submissions from person(s) who have been found to submit such work falsely.

Once reviewed you will be notified by e-mail, telephone, or snail mail about whether your work has been accepted. E-mail will be the preferred method of notification. Speed of notification depends on how many submissions are received, backlog of work, and other factors. It could take anywhere from 24 hours to up to six months to hear back on your submissions. Once you have submitted a work you have given permission for it to be published if accepted. You may revoke this permission at any time in writing (land mail or e-mail) up to the point of publishing. After publshing we will consider reasonable requests in writing to remove your work from a volume. If after we have accepted your work we cannot contact you(because of defunct contact information) your permission still stands. You MUST remove your work from consideration and publishing in writing. Wildstar Press is not responsible for correspondence not received. This means it is best to receive a response from us before you consider your communication delivered. This also means that it is a good idea to keep us updated with a working e-mail address or current contact information since we use this information to contact you about your work or this site. Please see our privacy policy.
return to top Your work may have been accepted contigent on editing. This means that we like your submissions but we feel a few changes would make it more compatible with our website. Changes may be but not limited to grammar, spelling, wording, plot, character development, etc. We will send the changes back to you. You MUST approve the changes before we can publish the work. You do not have to accept any changes. You may instead send back your own proposed changes, a compromise, the original work or withdraw it from consideration. If you send back different changes, publishing will pend on approval of those changes. This is a dynamic process and may take many revisions before an acceptable version is agreed upon. Both parties, the author and Wildstar press, must agree on the final version for publishing. Usually works are suitable as submitted.
return to top When your work is ready for publishing it will be coded into HTML or another web format for publishing. You will be sent a link where you can see your work but it will not be linked to the website or volume yet. You will have 14 days to approve or request changes to the format of your work. If we have not heard from you in 14 days we will link it to the volume automatically. If the contact information on file is defunct and we have not heard other wise from you we will link the page containing your work. If you respond to us with a concern (format, page color, spelling errors) we will do our best to address the concern. You can then give us the go ahead to link the work. Your work is not considered published by us until it is linked to the volume. This means you may still remove your work by informing us in writing you would like it removed from consideration. Please use this sparingly for irreconcilable differences or extreme circumstances as so much work has been put in up to the point of linking. The work will be linked to the Wildstar Press website after 14 days or once author approval is given, whichever comes first. Extensions may be given on a case by case basis.
