Dawn Overstreet

Author's remarks included at request of Editor:
I am married to a wonderful man who is a Truck Driver. One day when he left to go on the road again I wrote this poem for him. He is gone four weeks then home four day's.

Just One Wish

To the God's above I Pray
If you were to grant me just one wish
It would be to grant
My Love a safe journey
All through the day's and night's.

Keep him out of harm's way
Keep him under your Loving Care
Shelter him from the storm's
Keep him fed and warm.

Let him feel My Love
Let him know he always live's in me
Every waking moment, even in my dreams
And I await his return.

Let your night sky's shine brightly
To always light his path
And place your brightest star
Right up above my door.

To guide him safely home
At each journey's end
Into these two arms
That long to hold him, once more!
