"My War"

With challenge forthcoming and failure by running
I have conquered and won though it be battle not war
A war unprovoked yet sought and begun
Unconscious in doing and wakeful pursuing

Winning is losing, find the key to one door
So open and use it to see closed always more
How many keys? Enough for each lock
And where do I find them when my path always blocked

Does it really matter and who is to care?
Maybe just me, the only one who will dare.
Find only one key to fit portal or gate
When faced with a choice I don’t stop nor hesitate

Decision aforethought if right and correct
I find no block in my path, it is smooth and straight as I step
I would travel without need of any key to the lock of my fate
My road would be to stroll without hurry to my gait

I have known paths easy though most have not been
Stony and rocky, covered and unseen
Those are the ones that lead to no end
So even with a key there’s nothing to open, no friend

My way and approach guides my choice and decision
Fear of the unknown does cloud my vision
But what I don’t know is what I yearn and I lack
To feel good and content and know not to turn back

I am loved by one person who helps me so much
The pleasure I feel when, so loving her touch
She gives me her hope, her wish and her dream
Pushes me on, not to give up, to fight on and stay keen

I know that I’ll go on and find the way through
It may take a long time until I leave old for new
I have all those I love and that is worth work and much strife
I love those who love me and thank them for giving me my life.
