back home

By marcus brevik

back home
i see curious faces
eyes of confusion
looking for the friend they once knew
eyes that ask where i went
i had thought i told you
i went to find myself
i am i
moving forward into life
with the lessons from the past
out of the stagnant water called complaining
into the fresh pond of positive change
found the roots and planted them
now growth can take place
this flowers wants the chance to bloom
back home
is a challenge
i see wandering eyes
looking for whats right in front of their face
i can only see with my eyes
back home
is being in a similar place
as a new person
with a fresh feeling
a vision of the future
healing is coming
tomorrow is what we make it
can we build together
a solid foundation of love

Inside Me

By Athena

I am
passionate rising
and
lethargic falls
I slip through my life like
a tornado that whispers
and occasionally sleeps
I rustle in the woods
and crash through city streets
And occasionally eat fine organic
food in fancy restaurants
with my fingers
I laugh and dance
and
try to make sure I
cry
tears slip down my cheeks
reluctantly
but with each one
I feel stronger
I stand up when I cry
and let my sobs
dance furiously in the
clouds around me
And when I am done
I smile
or sleep
And think of my tears
as a poem to remember.
One that I return to for release
and understanding.
but one
I am not always reading
I am a fire
sometimes small & cozy
sometimes huge & insatiable
sometimes burning
sometimes cleansing
sometimes lighting
sometimes warming
I passionately rise
and then lethargically
fall into embers of exhausted heat
I am airfirewater
and earth
somewhere in my core)
Somewhere that keeps me
grounded
in my fight for what I believe
and my flight from what harms me
Most of all, I am me
breathing & squirming through each
of my cells
And that is the reason I do
what I do.
